Any moneys left over will go into the Mixers treasury. In other Mixer news, a trip to Lake Junaluska Retreat Center, North Carolina is scheduled for August 30 thru September 4, 2011. Sixteen people are planning to participate in the trip. No money from the Mixers treasury will be used for the trip.
The Mixers Class began in 1959 when several Class of EAWRCHS 1959 high school graduates met with Birdine Groshong as teacher. The class is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with a week-long trip south to Epworth planned by Jerry Peel. In May of 2008, Darrell Cozad retired as teacher after 28 years and was presented a plaque for his dedicated service by the class. The Mixers currently meet in the Genesis room and use the Bible as text. Attendance has been growing, with 20 in attendance on Feb. 8. Social and business meetings are held the second Saturday of the month with a meal usually served. The class is planning a church-work day on April 4 to do cleaning, a flea market for early August, as well as the annual Christmas Tea in December. Donations from the class support several ministries. If you are interested in Bible study, do join us in the Mixers Class! The Lenten study will focus on the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ as foretold in the Old Testament.
