Divorce Care

It is a Bible-based support group for those involved in a separation or divorce. There are informational flyers in the narthex to give to people who you think would benefit from this support group. Please contact Linda Schaake for more information at 377-6556.

The CARE Team
The CARE Team began in 1998 as an outreach ministry of First UMC, and is a function of the Parish Nurse program  Members of the Care Team minister to shut-ins and the sick by sending cards, visiting, making phone calls, and even providing meals if needed. Every Monday after the regular meeting, members stuff Care Bears that someone has already cut out, another person has drawn the faces on, and another person has sewn together--all with love. These bears have gone to adults and children alike in area hospitals, and many other places where someone needs to feel a touch of God's love (some have gone overseas!). The Care Team also sends "baby bundles" to parents of new babies, and have sponsored dinners to honor church staff and the church choir.  Every summer this ministry has an Ice Cream & Cake Social which is open to not only attendees of the church, but the community for only a free will offering. If you are interested in reaching out to our church and community, the CARE Team meets every Monday at 9:00 a.m.
